I was born on the East Coast of Texas, the end of spring '86. I've since lived all around Texas. When I was five and learned how to write, I wrote my first short story, which I revered as a novel. 'My Little Flower' was the start of a long list of short stories, poems, and aspirations to becoming a writer. That life-long dream led me to seek a career as a journalist. I soon discovered the very big difference between creative writing and journalistic writing. After growing accustomed to the rigid rules, I found I depended on them and knew exactly why they were in place. I soon realized the duty that I and every journalist have to the public: to be honest, balanced, and accurate. That is what I wrote my essay on in my application to Texas A & M. I love journalism and practicing it because I understand what a responsibility it is. I will not allow my bias to influence the public because it is my duty to present the facts so that readers may form their own opinions. That is what I know to be true and that is what I will follow throughout my career.
