The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets prepares to pay final tributes to one of its own.

Senior agricultural major and member of Squadron 18 Anthony Joseph Carey will be honored at Echo Taps at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, on the Quad. The Corps has extended an invitation for all students to attend.

Carey was reported missing by the University Police Department Monday afternoon. He was last seen leaving his home in Houston headed back to College Station.

Carey’s car, a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, was found in Marlin, Texas, which is between Bryan-College Station and Waco off Highway 6.

Monday evening UPD released a statement that a body was discovered in a heavily wooded area adjacent to where Carey’s vehicle was found.

Investigators are still working to discern the identity of the body.
