The SGA Election Commission announced Friday night that AJ Rice, freshman general studies major, won the freshman class president runoff election with 62.16 percent of the vote.
In the first round of voting earlier this week, Rice received the highest amount of votes: 17.56 percent. Because a candidate did not receive a majority vote, a runoff election took place. Brooke McManus, freshman international studies major, received the second highest amount of votes, 15.75 percent, in the first round of voting earlier in the week. This put McManus in the runoff election with Rice, where Rice received the majority vote Friday.
