Graduate Student Council adds ‘professional’ to name

%26%23160%3B

Seeking to include professional students in its representative group, the Texas A&M Graduate Student Council kicked off its school year by revising its name to Graduate and Professional Student Council.
Christopher Lyons, presidents of the council, said the name is meant to include the professional students at A&M and to ensure their voice will be heard on campus. The revision was immediately put in place following a majority vote from department delegates.
The rest of the meeting consisted of a series of committee and officer introductions as well as voting on resolutions.
The Graduate Student Council is now the Graduate and Professional Student Council, as professional students are now included in the organization.
