Women's group to host 'Inspired' fundraiser

W: Women in Power, Power in Women, is searching for participants for a fundraising talent showcase called "Inspired: Showcase of Women's Talents." The organization focuses on building the strength and importance of women around the world to create an international bond of women. W, along with the Women's Resource Center, is looking for performers, artists, groups and individuals to participate at the April 3 performance. The event will showcase the gifts and talents of Aggie women. Auditions will run until Thursday and can be scheduled by signing up in Koldus. Artwork must be submitted by March 27 to the W office in Blocker 513.

A&M makes list of 'Best Colleges for Latinos'

Texas A&M University has been featured in Hispanic Magazine's annual listings of "The Best Colleges for Latinos." Universities were chosen based on the support and resources provided to underrepresented groups in higher education, specifically Hispanics. Factors that played into the selection process were student enrollment, graduation rates, acceptance rates, financial aid resources and number of Hispanic Faculty at the universities. Other institutions featured included Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Harvard, Notre Dame, University of Chicago, MIT, Georgetown, all University of California campuses and two other Texas campuses, Rice and the University of Texas at Austin.

Student body election campaigning begins

Student body elections have begun. Campaigning for class presidents and councils, student senators, yell leaders, RHA president and Student Body President will continue all week with voting to begin on March 24. Results will be announced at 8 p.m. March 27 at the Sul Ross statue in Academic Plaza. Needed runoffs will be announced with the general results and will be voted on April 1 and 2. Student Government Association Election Commission will be hosting a Candidate Forum and Debate for Yell Leader and Student Body President candidates at two separate times within the next week.
