Campus Brief - Commencement speakers for spring ceremony

Texas A&M University's spring commencement speakers are San Antonio civic leader and construction executive H. B. (Bartell) Zachry, Jr., Congressman Chet Edwards, Pier 1 Imports Chairman and CEO Marvin J. Girouard and Prof. J. Martyn Gunn, speaker of the Texas A&M Faculty Senate, announced President Robert M. Gates.
Texas A&M's commencement exercises are scheduled for May 13-14 at Reed Arena, with three ceremonies scheduled the first day, a Friday, with the remaining one set for Saturday morning and followed by commissioning ceremonies for graduates entering the military as officers and Final Review, the Corps of Cadets' last parade for the current school year.
All of the ceremonies are open to the public without need for tickets, university officials noted.
