Gillispie agrees to contract extension
The Texas A&M Board of Regents voted Friday morning to offer head basketball coach Billy Gillispie a contract extension. Gillispie will earn $1.75 million a year through 2015, up from the $1.2 million he was guaranteed through 2012. He will still receive the $1 million bonus if he stays through 2012,along with a $750,000 bonus if he stays through 2015.

Texas A&M's 10th annual Student Research Week took place this week. Student Research Week is one of the largest university-wide student-led research week programs in the nation with about 500 students participating.

Senior agricultural engineering major Christopher Rodie fires a trebuchet, the result of a group project in his biological and agricultural engineering 265 class Thursday on West Campus. Rodie's group worked on the project during three weeks worth of lab sessions and even used software simulations to fine tune their trebuchet.
