Faculty Senate should allow grade exclusion for students
Lighten up
In a recent campus wide e-mail, Interim Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies Kristin S. Harper announced that the Faculty Senate's Rules and Regulations Committee shot down an initiative that would allow students to exclude poor grades from their GPR. In the past, the Student Senate has repeatedly attempted to pass legislation to assist students whose records are marred by one or two unsatisfactory grades, but the Faculty Senate has the final say and won't approve any such notions.

Bill Byrne should not raise prices

Texas A&M Director of Athletics Bill Byrne and his staff have done it again. They have found yet another way to further distance themselves from the student body. "Football ticket prices have steepened due to the rising cost of tuition. When there is a rise in tuition, it affects our budget," said Associate Director for Media Relations for the Athletic Department Alan Cannon.

Sharon has the chance to achieve 'bigger goals'

Mail Call - Grade exclusion would hurt A&M's reputation

In response to Sara Foley's Nov. 5 article:
If Dr. Gates approves the grade exclusion proposal it will be bad for students and the University. First, the value of a Texas A&M degree rests in the credibility of the institution. When employers find that some Aggies' grade point ratios are fluffed-up, the meaningfulness of the degree will decrease.
