Senior exercise physiology major Sofia Costa receives her Aggie Ring from the Association of Former Students on Thursday evening at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. Rings were distributed in the afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The next Aggie Ring Day is April 14, 2005.

Gates to decide on grade exclusion
Students may be able to remove up to three grades of D or F from their cumulative grade point ratio calculation under a proposed grade exclusion policy. University President Robert M. Gates will decide what action to take on the proposal from the Faculty Senate.

TS ends double-pay parking at Reed Arena
Michael Reyes, a senior architecture major, parked by Treehouse Apartments last year for baseball games. He did it to avoid the extra parking fee that is charged during baseball and basketball games, but he will no longer have to. "Students have paid enough for their parking permits," Reyes said.

Move postponedProposal may allow PSEL to stay
Students and administrators are drawing up a proposal that could potentially keep the Policy Sciences and Economics library (PSEL) in its existing location. Liberal Arts Sen. Brian Harrison and junior political science major Marcella Colbert reported the results of their discussions with administrators to the Student Senate Wednesday night.

McTeer appointed new A&M chancellor
Robert D. McTeer was appointed chancellor of the Texas A&M University System by the Texas A&M Board of Regents in a special telephone meeting Thursday. McTeer was named the sole finalist for the position on Oct. 13, but he could not be appointed until after a 21-day open period.

Tinto lectures on cooperative learning
Vincent Tinto, a distinguished professor at Syracuse University, said that in higher education, cooperative learning is important to have more diverse education and makes a class more diverse, which leads to an equal opportunity to engage in new ideas. "Graduating classes are more diverse than entering classes," Tinto said.

'Real World' involves diversity
MJ Garrett, from MTV's "The Real World" in Philadelphia, said being on "The Real World" made him understand the concept of diversity better because he wasn't exposed to it before the show and thinks that was one of the reasons he was chosen to be on the show.
