Somewhere along the way someone forgot to tell the University of Baylor it didn't have a good football team, and, on Saturday night, the Bears seemed to forget as well. In what could be considered the No. 16 Texas A&M football team's most shocking loss of the season, Baylor fought past its semi-permanent underdog title to defeat the Aggies 35-34 in overtime.

Storyteller to explore 'Blessings of Ramadan'
Pamela Taylor, a Muslim storyteller, will perform "The Blessings of Ramadan: A Gift in Story" on campus Tuesday at the Texas A&M Sterling C. Evans Library. Taylor will explain how Allah revealed the first verses of the Quran, the holy book of Islam, to Prophet Muhammad.

China Week promotes understanding
Opening ceremonies for China Week 2004 began Monday at Rudder Fountain with performances by the Texas A&M Singing Cadets, lion dancers and Shaolin Kung Fu to promote awareness of Chinese culture. "The major purpose (of China Week) is to expose students to global and international related issues," said James Anderson, vice president and associate provost of institutional assessment and diversity.

Actors to bring Roosevelts back to life
William Wills discovered his life's calling to the tune of "Seventy-Six Trombones" when he auditioned for "The Music Man" in college. "I didn't go over to audition for the show, I went to give a friend support. But I noticed that there were cute girls, so I said, 'Oh what the heck, it might be fun, a good way to meet people' - just a thing you do in college," William said.

France-Texas symposium canceled
The European Union Center at Texas A&M University announced today that the France-Texas Symposium on Water and Agriculture has been canceled. The symposium was scheduled for Monday at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
