STILLWATER, Okla. - Entering Saturday's round of Big 12 games, there were four undefeated teams in conference play. Sunday morning, only two were left standing: the University of Oklahoma and Texas A&M. The Aggies (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) joined the Sooners as the only 3-0 teams in the Big 12 with a 36-20 win Saturday night over Oklahoma State University, which was one of the former undefeated teams at the start of the night.

Big 12 admitted on Ivy League network
Beginning Monday, Texas A&M students will be allowed to network with each other, with students from other schools in the Big 12 and with Ivy League students on www.campusnetwork.com. "A lot of people from Columbia (University, in New York City) complained that there was no community.

Gates' golf cart hits University streets
Texas A&M President Robert M. Gates can now be seen driving a golf cart around campus. "I realized after the fact that I had done a very poor job of negotiating my contract when I got hired," Gates said. "Most universities provide a car for their president, sometimes even with a driver.

Edwards, Wohlgemuth spar in final debate over health care
Congressman Chet Edwards and State Rep. Arlene Wohlgemuth debated Saturday in a final showdown between the two candidates for the District 17 seat in Congress. Wohlgemuth accused Edwards of supporting a Waco-based insurance company that she said scammed young soldiers.

Ranger Challenge team takes top honors
The male and coed squads of the Texas A&M Ranger Challenge team each won first place in their respective divisions at the regional Ranger Challenge competition held at Camp Bullis near San Antonio on Friday and Saturday. Seventeen universities and 32 teams of six members competed in the two-day event, which consisted of seven physical and skills tests ranging from bridge building to a 10-kilometer march.

Woman hit by car
On Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 9:23 p.m., a woman was hit by a car at the intersection of South Bizzell and the exit of the golf course on Southside. Bret Kretzschmar, assistant director for criminal investigations, said a man was driving south on Bizzell Street and didn't see the pedestrian.
