If you're looking for a place to celebrate the fourth of July, the Bryan-College Station are has plenty of festivities to help you find the American spirit. Here are a few activities going on around town on Wednesday and Thursday.

College Station Noon Lions Club hosts "I Love America" Fourth of July Celebration

The "I Love America" celebration will be at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum on Thursday. The event includes food, fun and fireworks for all ages. The museum is offering free admission for the day and food truck vendors will arrive at 12 p.m.

Children will have the opportunity to ride an All Aboard Fun train ride at 4 p.m. and utilize the Kids’ Zone at 6:15 p.m., which will be packed with games and bounce houses. From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. there will be live performances from the Great American Boxcar Chorus and the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks show kicks-off at 9:45 p.m.

Brazos Valley Heritage Society’s Old Fashion Fourth of July

For an old-fashioned celebration, look no further than the Brazos Valley Heritage Society’s party. The early morning festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. with music by Proud Country and the opening of both food and exhibitor booths. A flag raising, accompanied by the Pledge of Allegiance, and followed by a toast to the flag presented by The National Sojourners will start around 10 a.m. The children’s parade commences at 10:30 a.m. and marks the end of the celebration.

Fourth of July at the Stella Hotel

If you’re spending the day in Bryan, the Stella Hotel offers pool passes for $15 or $50 for a family of up to four members. The hotel is also offering bikes or paddle boards for the rent at $25 per hour. Nearby, the POV Coffeehouse will be serving four dollar specialty drinks such as Proud to be an AmericanO, Red, White & True Latte, Lady LiberTEA and Sons of LiberTEA that invoke the patriotic spirit.

Firecracker 5K

The B-CS Marathon Race Series is putting on the July 4 Firecracker 5k run and invites all ages of walkers and runners to join. All proceeds of the race go to the Mercy Project, which works to end slavery in Ghana, Africa. The race offers free watermelon and apple pie along with a free T-shirt for every participant. The racing fee is $25 for adults and $20 for students. Participants are invited to wear red, white and blue and bring the family along. The hour-long race will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Brazos Running Company.

Brazos County Courthouse reads Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights

To relive history, stop by the Brazos County Courthouse on Wednesday, July 3 at 12 p.m. At the main entrance of the building, the attorneys of the Brazos County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association will read the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and amendments to the U.S. Constitution that represent the protection of civil rights and freedoms. The attorneys are joining 150 other counties in the reading of the Declaration of Independence and encourage parents to bring their children.
