Global warming is proven fact

First and foremost, belief by definition is to accept something is true regardless of evidence. However, there is overwhelming evidence that has accumulated over the past century, and not just limited to what was mentioned in the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth." In fact, our atmospheric science department at A&M is one of the first to acknowledge and argue for global warming. It's the scientists who spend years looking at data - all the time in school becoming experts and getting paid modestly. If you talk to them, you would understand how irrefutable this all is. However, how exciting is reading about a .7 degree increase on a graph? It's much easier to crack on those who try to translate what is being found by scientists to the general public, even if they aren't doing it the best way possible. Although Sheryl Crowe and Al Gore flew in jets for their tour to talk about global warming, when you consider how many thousands of gallons of gasoline are wasted by people driving Hummers or F-250s to go to Blockbuster or McDonalds for wants rather than needs, who can you really say is trying to change things for the better? Maybe it takes a religious- like fervor to get attention drawn to the topic. However, to say that those that devote their lives to understanding how we impact the world around us are idiots is just plain ignorant.
