The meeting will convene in open session and is expected to immediately recess to executive session for consultation with system attorneys regarding legal matters (as permitted by Texas Government Code, Section 551.071) and deliberations regarding personnel matters (as permitted by Texas Government Code, Section 551.074) including the presidency of Tarleton State University, Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Texas A&M University-Commerce.

University Studies degree expands to include dance

Dance faculty in the department of health and kinesiology are now utilizing the University Studies degree program to offer a concentration in dance to Texas A&M students. There are currently four students in the concentration and several more will have an opportunity to audition in May and August 2008. "The University Studies degree in dance concentration permits the student to work towards an interdisciplinary degree. It allows them to make choices and shape their degree to fit their needs," says Christine Bergeron, clinical assistant professor of dance. "It enables a student to not only pursue dance but to also learn more about music, theater and/or business. For the student who wants to open their own studio or run a drill team, these other skills will be priceless."
