As a an off-campus student and resident of the neighborhood, I am glad to see that our situation is getting attention. Thanks for giving our community an outlet to share ideas and problems solutions so that this sort of decreased living standard doesn't have to be suffered by others. Involvement of city officials has really helped our cause, and they have been very responsive to our complaints and ideas. Thanks!

The Neighborhood is an amazing and welcoming gathering place for a widespread community in Bryan/College Station. The cultural events held there are unlike any others in town, leaving anyone involved with a truly unforgettable experience. Living in walking distance from the Neighborhood and its beautiful green yard have been one of the highlights in my life since I moved to my home in 2006. Many of my neighbors and I look forward to visiting the area whenever possible, and I used to really enjoy passing through the always well kept green space on my walks home from school. The residents of the neighborhood took pride in their yard, maintaining a prominent role in its upkeep by frequently mowing, gardening, and otherwise beautifying the space. Now when I pass the area and have to see the ugly fence full of metal scraps, standing water, and mud - occupying the entire area and even blocking the entrance to several homes - I feel appalled that such a travesty was allowed to occur in a place that so many great events once took place. I am uplifted by the productive actions of the community and the positive response by appropriate authority figures. This Neighborhood will once again prove to play a positive role in the Aggie community and set an example for future progress in other similar neighborhoods.

the neighborhood is truely a gift for the people who have experienced it. it is a place of friendship, productivity and culture. to see what has happened to the neighborhood is a truely sad event, but the city is fighting and so are the residents. support for this cause is still needed. find the "Save The Neighborhood" group on facebook to find out what you can do!

Talk of mysteries! -- Think of our life in nature, -- daily to be shown matter, to come in contact with it, -- rocks, trees, wind on our cheeks! The solid earth! the actual world! the common sense! Contact! Contact! Who are we? where are we?
