How much of the student fees go toward Greek Life? That is a student fee that should not be included. Greek Life is not open to every student. I think this is not talked about as much as it should be.

So tell me, what is the college doing with $460,000 earmarked for computer paper? That is ONE large warehouse!I could have supplied my daughter with a ream or two for less than ten dollars.

I still fail to see how it's necessary for me to pay for the Rec, the writing center, the SCC, Greek Life (as Burns has already pointed out), and any number of other organizations or buildings when I don't use any of them. I simply don't have the time to use these services, nor do I have the money to pay for them, and yet somehow I'm still partly responsible for their upkeep. Also, I don't doubt that the money we pay for these things is being used for these services - in other words, I don't get the impression anyone's lying about where our money's going - but some of the things that our money is being used to buy are ridiculous. Example: The EdMS department in the Evans Library, the same place where you can check out and watch movies, now has plans to make a fleet of iPods and iTouches available for students to check out and use for their own purposes, as long as they bring them back when they're done. Is that even remotely necessary?

Greek Life is open to anyone who wants to be Greek. It is just a matter of coming out for rush and finding the right sorority or fraternity for you.

"Anyone", Who can afford the dues? Students that don't participate in Greek Life should not be supporting Greek Life with student fees. Greek Life gets support from dues paid by you in Greek Life etc.

I know a lot of people in Greek Life who have a job to pay dues. They are not that expensive. If you want to be Greek you can, you just may have to work a little.
