"The Red Wolves led the Longhorns until late in the game before falling 21-13."

ASU never took a lead in the game.

ASU never led in the contest, but ASU had the momentum, having scored late in the fourth quarter. ASU recovered the subsequent on-side kickoff with a minute to go. Big 12 officials threw a flag, saying that there were not four men on both sides of the ball. Video proved this call to be wrong, and the Big 12 head of officials notified ASU that the official had made a bad call. Unfortunately, by that time the call had stood and the game was over. Texas was indeed fortunate to have a twelfth man on the field, not in orange, but in stripes.
