I totally agree with you. In the end, this move might prove to be horrible. But until then, we have no idea. As a student body, we also do not know what goes on behind close doors in terms of administration interactions and relationships. Lets take a "wait and see" approach before burning her at the stake.

There is a difference between whining, and being upset because the wrong person was chosen for president and she is making the wrong decisions to prove it.

Note to the Author: You are no better than any person who posted a comment on thebatt.com about it. You cannot claim to be a credible journalist if a) you don't publish your name on it, b) you cant edit your own submissions before submitting them (including misspelled words and spaces in the middle of words, and c) your sole point is to feed the flame wars you claim to criticize. Next time you decide to use such a public forum to attack people for expressing their opinion, make sure your not saying the same thing they are.

Wow, unbelievable.. I wasn't aware that being upset that a great man and a great leader is being kicked off our campus is tantamount to "whining." People are sad to see him go, and we have a right to express our feelings. Maybe you're the one that needs to "get over it" and "stow the whining."

"Aggies hate change."

I can only speak for myself, but I don't have a problem with change...actually, I like change...if it BENEFITS the university!!!

This editorial is a rag, and deserves to be flushed down the toilet.

What I find interesting is that instead of taking down the horrible comment posted by the idiot in the corps (and reprimanding him/her) Monday all of the wonderful comments about Dr. Bresciani were removed as well, this seemed quite cowardly. Last time I checked the BATT was the student voice of TAMU, not an opinion rag. I'm sure you enjoyed castigating the entire campus in your, what can only loosely be termed as an "article" but I don't pick up the paper to read such worthless articles as this. The BATT should know better, I'm sure we have much more talented, unbiased writers on this campus - give someone else a shot.

Guys, please get back to the main issue here. Hello? If anyone wants to take Dr. Murano's job, then go ask her!!! Oops, I'm sorry, you need to get a bachelor degree first.

I clicked on News expecting news. What I found was this article which I would hardly call news. I would call it a poorly written article, not based on facts but based on some kindergarten level opinions. I tell you what. I will stop whining if you go back to Writing 101.

While I concur that rash comments on the Dr. Murano are unneeded, where is the Batt reporting on the underlying issue?

We already have two (2) conflicting stories regarding Dean Bresciani's departure - he resigned/he was unexpectly fired. Journalism cannot be merely scolding the public who decry the situation in less than friendly terms. Journalism must be investigation and reporting, not simply mouthing the words of the Dr. Murano's office.

An editorial on the content of the outcry, particularly without any corresponding reporting on the actual truth of the situation is saddening. I guess this was happens when the Journalism Department is canned.

It is about time that Dean Bresciani and his tactics have been removed from campus. Students that fought hard to keep fees low and rich kids from taking "sponsored" ski trips on the backs of other students can finally see the possibility of change. If anything this is a warning to high expense student groups, the REC Center, and other subsidized organizations to shape up or ship out. I have had my doubts about Dr. M, but this was a good move.

It seems like the people who are complaining about Dr. Murano for this move do not know the full story. Granted, nobody really does except for those involved but that's why we shouldn't pass judgment. From some of the stuff I was hearing about Bresciani, I'm going to trust Dr. Murano's judgment.

Dr. B was not near the saint that many of you have portrayed him as.

He was as shady as it comes and would not shy away from manipulation of students.

I think a key issue is being sort of overlooked here, at least within this crappy piece of journalism (Angie, you are very right) and the comments on it - why haven't Dr. Murano or Dr. Bresciani told us why this is happening? It seems that if we as students are going to be subjected to leadership changes that can potentially dramatically affect our time (and our fees) here at A&M, we should at least be told what's going on. Especially in light of Coach Fran's recent underhanded dealings, I would like to see quite a bit more forwardness, frankness, and honesty out of this administration. If I actually knew what was going on here, I might support it or I might not, but at least I would be able to form a cohesive, informed opinion on the matter, which is, apparently, something out of reach of the person who wrote this article.
