Gee, what else could students be doing at 9 am on a weekday?
Actually, the Transportation Services forums were held at various times, days, and locations to try to best accomodate students. Here is the link: senate.tamu.edu/60documents/Minutes/Senate_Minutes_11-28.pdf

I am in favor of the price increase. Increase the price of parking by more than $10, and use the new revenue to enhance the bus services. Increase the frequencies on busy routes or establish new routes in growing areas off-campus. Offering higher pay to the bus drivers will improve their performance and increase retention. If Transportation Services and the University want to help solve the traffic problems that exist around campus, reduce vehicle emissions that contribute to global warming, and improve the quality of life for the student body and the residents of CS, then they must improve and expand the bus service to give travelers an alternative. Increasing the price of parking and using the funds to support bus services sends a clear message that the University supports sustainable solutions like transit and has no interest in continuing to feed our society's automobile-oriented lifestyle.

Instead of adding busses to busy routes, how bout you get your ass on the bus earlier and it won't be so busy. Transit is something TAMU has as a privilege and they are not forced to have it. Either stop your whining or get ready to pay more for your services. REMEMBER THAT ITS A BUSINESS. If it's wasting money (which it was) then its gonna be changed.

The solution to all problems seems to be to pump more money into it. A better solution might be to actually use the money you have more efficiently. I'll see two buses one right after the other on my bus route (26). That is a complete waste of time and money for that second bus b/c the first bus already picked up everyone at the stops. How about communication instead of a rigid schedule that isn't even followed to begin with? Are their books open for review (can I take a look at their expenses and income)?

As part of the government, I believe you have full access to all the records by simply submitting an open records request or something like that (http://finance.tamu.edu/records/records/default.asp).
As far as there being two busses right after each other: Although this does happen SOME times, it can be due to several UNCONTROLLED reasons
such as traffic or an accident on the road. It is unfair to say this frequently or always happends. If you have complaints, I suggest you immediately call transit up at 847-RIDE and tell them. They will correct the issue by contacting the drivers immediately through radio or offer you a good explanation as to why that happenned. Transit management can only fix things they are aware of. They can't afford to waste their time at looking into every little complaint every passenger puts in because some have no good reason.

I'm glad to see that current students, faculty, and staff at TAMU are being forced to pay for the west campus garage and other failed parking ventures.
How about they significantly decrease the pay of the top administrators at TS to cover the horrible losses they have incurred as a result of stupid mistakes on their part?

My take on that is, why the hell even go to the forums??? It's not as if our input actually makes a bit of difference. This is kind of like the tuition forums that are hosted every year, yet tuition and fees keep climbing anyway. Rising costs are rising costs, and the forums are just faux-democracy, trying to give the illusion that the opinions of students really matter.
