Cut distribution costs 9% and reduced contractor turnover for The Dallas Morning News. Decline in state circulation necessitated consolidation of distributorships. Assessed markets to determine customer-to-distributor ratios. Realigned distributors' territories and created new compensation model. Offset losses in revenue and raised compensation of remaining distributors. Generated over $150K annual savings.
Saved $200K annual transportation costs for The Dallas Morning News. Rising transportation costs were impacting revenues. Broke down each truck run by type of equipment, mileage traveled, frequency and volumes. Determined revenue generated by each haul versus cost. Made recommendations for best use of existing resources. Eliminated several truck runs that failed to return an acceptable level of revenue.
Increased single copy sales by 10%(Eagle). Partnered with area grocers to negotiate a larger margin of sales to the grocers in exchange for more points of sale. An additional 140 points of sale and net sales increase of 10% daily and 15% Sunday.
Reorganized department and reduced staff by 20%.(Eagle) Due to falling advertising revenue all positions were broken down to tasks and built back into new positions. Other tasks were outsourced to temp agencies or independent contractors. The end result was a savings 20%
