Two students died in a car accident early Saturday morning on George
Bush Drive West. According to a report by the College Station Police
Department, College Station firefighters were returning from a call
when they spotted a vehicle in a ditch next to the road at about 4
a.m. Officers were notified and arrived on scene to find the two
occupants of the vehicle were deceased. The driver was 20-year-old
Luca Bonasera, sophomore economics major, and 19-year-old Jade Marie
Vasquez, sophomore maritime administration major. The crash
reconstruction team and detectives were called to the scene, and the
report said it appeared the vehicle was traveling east on George
Bush Drive West and lost control in the area of the roadway’s
intersection with Barbara Bush Drive. The vehicle hit the curb and
landed off of the roadway in a deep ditch. The male driver of the
vehicle and his female passenger were both wearing seatbelts. The
investigation into this crash continues and more information will be
