Funeral set for Poultry Science professor

Beloved and respected professor of poultry science professor, Clarence Richard Creger Jr., died Saturday. A longtime professor who also served as head of the Department of Poultry and deputy chancellor for Agriculture and Life Sciences, Creger excelled in teaching, research and administration.
Following a career in the U.S. Army and Army reserves, Creger retired as a colonel and earned a degree in nutrition from Kansas State University. Creger’s time at A&M began in 1958 as a graduate student and continued for more than 50 years. Widely recognized throughout the agriculture industry, he made numerous contributions to his field, publishing more than 190 journal articles.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. Creger will be buried in Weir, Kansas, Friday.
