Former student Susan Mitchell, Class of 2007, wowed audiences and her fellow Aggies with her five-day winning streak on Jeopardy.
The show, which was filmed in February, did not air on television until last week.
Mitchell, who was unable to be reached for comment, won more than $70,000 during her run on the popular television game show.
In her fifth and final appearance on Jeopardy, Mitchell competed for the lead the entire game and dominated such topics as "French Composers" and "You look like a Greek God."
Mitchell was in the lead going into the "Final Jeopardy" round, but failed to give the correct response ("What are Uganda and Rwanda") to the answer "two countries that border Tanzania that have the same last four letters in the same order."
After risking $14,700 on an incorrect response, Mitchell's earnings for the day dropped to $900, causing another contestant, Jared, to be that day's winner.
Mitchell told Alex Trebek, the host of Jeopardy, that her winnings would be going toward paying off the house she just purchased in Houston.
Katy Clarke, another Aggie graduate, will be following in Mitchell's footsteps by competing on Jeopardy in the near future.
