A Texas A&M Health Center employee was shot Wednesday at the 300 block of Fraternity Row, according to a news release.

The man has been identified as Keller Benjamin Verett, 24. He was an EMS volunteer technician.

College Station Police Department was dispatched at 7:37 p.m and Verett was pronounced dead upon arrival at College Station Medical Center.

The victim's roommate was allegedly showing Verett an accessory on the firearm, when it discharged and the bullet struck Verett in the head.

The investigation at the scene shows the shooting may have been an accident, according to a news release, and College Station Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division now has the case.

Lt. Rodney Sigler of the College Station Police Department said further details will not be available until the investigation is complete.
