Lab assistant and junior philosophy major Nathan Osbun, transfers Arabidopsis thaliana, a small plant grown in a petri dish, to a control sample of dirt Monday afternoon in the Norman E. Borlaug Center of Southern Crop Improvement. The plants are primarily used for studies of cross-breeding to grow and test mutant plants.
