Junior communications major Holly Kerr, junior communications major Natalie Roebuck and senior university studies major Lauren Barber wear their original Texas A&M gameday T-shirt dresses.

Nothing says gameday like a sunburn that would make a farmer envious, a good story about how you passed out from heat exhaustion and the lingering scent of burning meat in your hair. Texas A&M is famous for its loyal fans and its ability to make outsiders feel more alienated than they've possibly ever felt at a sporting event. Traffic increases tenfold, barbecue smoke from the multitude of tailgate parties chokes the ozone and, despite a win or a loss, everyone leaves the stadium exhausted, hoarse and sweating.

Despite the fact that every aspect of an Aggie game spells unglamorous, many have found a way to beat the heat and still look sweet. The A&M t-shirt dress has become a staple for female football fans. Every year, they increase in popularity and more girls can be seen sporting the jersey tube-top mini-dresses. Some pair it with flip-flops; others with cowboy boots. A popular combination is a gray A&M shirt with a maroon bottom or vice versa. Pearls and long, layered necklaces are a good contrast to the neckline that is left bare by the cut of the dress.

While girls have been known to sew their own T-shirt dress creations, most just hightail it to Northgate Vintage/Material, a small shop right off of University Drive owned by A&M graduate Kellie Lewis. Lewis specializes in hand made, personalized T-shirt dresses. Any combination, any size - as long as you bring the materials, she will stitch it up.

As for guys, they have it easy. The magic uniform is obvious: khaki cargo shorts, maroon and white shirt, baseball cap and flip-flops.
