Texas A&M men's basketball Head Coach Mark Turgeon announced Tuesday that former A&M point guard Acie Law IV will be honored Saturday by having his jersey displayed in the rafters of Reed Arena. Law, who was on the team from 2003 to 2007, was A&M's first consensus All-American. He will be introduced at halftime of A&M's home game against Oklahoma State, and will say a few words to the Aggie crowd."It was my idea," Turgeon said. "I grabbed [Athletic Director] Bill Byrne and told him, 'We need to honor this guy in some way.' What that kid did for this program, especially last season, made my job easier and tougher because the expectations of the program have changed." Law, who wore No. 1, will be the first individual athlete in A&M history to be honored in such a way. His jersey will be hung in the rafters permanently, but the number is not being retired, meaning other players will have the option of wearing No. 1.
