Senior civil engineering major Julie Samuels crosses an attendee of Ash Wednesday mass as an eucharistic minister at St. Mary's Catholic Center. During mass, the blessed ashes are used as a symbol of repentance. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the 40-day season of Lent.
