We all stand united as one student body singing, "True to each other as Aggies can be." Funny how we can sing these words with such pride and confidence, but they fail to apply to this year's SBP elections.

Even though I have no attachment to any campaign, this year's election has been on my mind. I dare to say that many of us are disappointed with what a mockery has been made about Marcella Colbert. Yes, there was question concerning her election's logo and it's good see that the proper procedures were followed to clear the issue. But, when the main allegations come from a biased Battalion columnist and a recently defeated SBP candidate, what signal is this sending?

If anything, many potential voters knew that people were coming up with anything to make this situation worse.

With that being said, I would rather have an SBP that has proven himself in the face of adversity. It's a true testament of perseverance - an invaluable asset that a leader of this school must possess.

If we wish to up hold the words in the "Spirit of Aggieland," we need to look away from all the childish games that have been played this campaign season.
