Ramadan

A catholic deacon, Turkish professors, Texas A&M undergraduate students, and a few College Station police officers gathered at the Raindrop Turkish House in Bryan to celebration a Muslim holy month. Ramadan is a 30-day period during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar when Muslims fast from food, drink and sexual relations. During Ramadan, participants fast for about 15 hours each day but partake in one meal before sunrise and another after sunset. Tuesday evening, Raindrop Turkish House served its guests a variety of Turkish cuisine, from a seasoned ground beef, mixed vegetable dish to “Dolma,” a grape leaf wrapped around tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and a variety of other vegetables.
